Yesterday late afternoon. I went to Furco with a few friends. I often go to this new (around 6-month old) place at around 10-11pm on Thursdays. It's the first time I go for a 5 à 7 there. I get there at 5 sharp and there is already a lineup of around 25 people outside. I couldn't believe it. I think it's the only place in town where there is at lineup at 4h45 in the afternoon.
*Tip of the Day* If you're aiming for a 5 à 7 and you have a fetish for men in suits, FURCO is THE place to be. I saw more suits yesterday afternoon than in any bank or Harry Rosen. It is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, walking distance from all big businesses.
What's cool about the place is that the crowd varies depending on the hour you get there. At night there's a nice combination of people in their early 20s to late 30s VS late afternoon, it's very business-like BUT FUN business-like. It's also one of the rare places in Montreal where there are as many Francophones as there are Anglos. The choice of music is an eclectic one, varying from RnB to old school, to fun remixes of pop hits. It's not crazy loud but you need to semi-shout to be heard, and at night, it's a tad louder.
PS. In the 2 pictures I took, I tried capturing as many suits as I could (sorry about the colours I rather not use the flash not to draw too much attention)

Now about the "outfit". I often dress very casual to go to out. I am not a big fan of dressing up too much at night to bars or clubs. I like to be comfortable, and I would hate to look as if I were trying too hard. I usual have one dressy element in my outfit (this time my coat haha) and I keep the rest casual (unless it's a REAL event). I wore these cool sneakers. I kind of destroyed their original version and re-stud them to my taste. I will do a post about them soon! Peace-OUT
