More Vintage Goodies

I borrowed these two bags from my grandmother last week. These two babies are about 60 years old. My great grandmother had them made for my grandma's wedding trousseau. The burgundy one is made of crocodile skin and has a classic 1950s shape (still inspiring designers today). The navy one is made of lizard skin. It used to have a short navy leather strap. My grandma meant to replace it but she forgot about it. I would wear it as a clutch or find a long strap to wear it more casually (on an every day basis).

*TIP OF THE DAY* What is important about vintage leathers/skins/furs is that you have to take care of them. They have to be well protected before being stored. For leathers and skins (like these bags for instance), put them in felt bags in a box. The bags need to be flat in the box (don't bend the handles) and put them away in a closet away from heat, moisture or freezing temperatures. It may seem obvious, but I've seen people putting them away in plastic bags (without oxygen, the colours may change). If any of you have better tips or ideas, please share them! It's always super helpful!!

I will be posting an outfit soon with these goodies, any suggestions with what to wear them??
